The Faculty of Agricultural Engineering is one of the oldest colleges at the University of Idlib, established in the year 2005 and was affiliated with the University of Aleppo and affiliated to the University of Idlib after its foundation in the year 2015. The College of Agricultural Engineering has graduated from the date of its establishment until the date of eight batches of agricultural engineers, where the number of graduates reached 265.  The College of Agricultural Engineering specializes in the General Division, and there is a plan to open other specializations in the coming stage, and a graduate studies division was opened.

Academic degrees awarded by the college:

• General degree in agricultural engineering.
• Master in Agricultural Engineering for all majors approved in the system of graduate studies at the college.
• Ph.D. in agricultural engineering for all majors approved in the system of graduate studies at the college.

 Vision and mission

The Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at the University of Idlib believes that the social, economic and cultural development in any society is always and always dependent on the development of science and scientific research in it, and whenever we go a long way in scientific research, we are assured that the relationship between science and civilization exists and remains, and the field of scientific research will always be wide open to all of it.  Whoever desires to draw from it, and our college sees that Syria is a primarily agricultural country and the agricultural sector must be developed and this is achieved through preparing scientifically and practically qualified human cadres that in turn work to spread unconventional ideas and practices in agricultural production in particular, and in rural life in general through creating desirable behavior changes in the knowledge and ideas of rural people who engage in agricultural activity.

College aspirations

• Giving agricultural practical research a special priority through holding seminars and scientific conferences.
• Work to create all the disciplines in the agricultural sciences.
• Work to constantly develop curricula and study plans.
• The link between the College of Agriculture and the farmer and the agricultural labor market.

The most important justifications for the opening of the specialty

 The war that took place in Syria and is still going on eliminated almost everything and the agricultural sector is considered one of the most affected sectors, as the number of people practicing agricultural activity in the city of Idlib was not less than 17%, and recent reports of the Food and Agriculture Organization indicated a significant decline in production  Vegetables and animals in Syria in general and the city of Idlib in particular, where the number of workers in this sector decreased due to the high costs of production requirements and the migration of minds overseeing the management of the agricultural process, both plant and animal, and the loss of a number of plant varieties and strains and the deterioration of production, so the justifications and motivations for opening the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at the university can  Summarize it as follows:

1. The severe shortage of scientific expertise that works to manage the agricultural process.
2. Working to rehabilitate families that practice agricultural activity in cooperation with humanitarian organizations that support the agricultural sector.
3. Work to develop plans for rural development and encourage the work of small agricultural projects.
4. Coordination with all parties related to the agricultural process to develop proper marketing plans for agricultural products, especially after the rise in production costs.
5. Preserving animal and plant genetic resources from loss and developing practical plans to improve their production.
6. Giving an opportunity to students of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering who were unable to continue their studies for political or security reasons.

Objectives of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering

1. Graduating agricultural engineers who have the scientific capabilities and skills that prepare them to compete in the labor market and are able to contribute to the development of the agricultural sector.
2. Integrated scientific, intellectual and personal preparation for the creative faculty member and agricultural researcher according to international specifications, systems and references.
3. Using scientific research plans to contribute to solving the problems of the agricultural sector.
4. Keeping abreast of the progress and development taking place in agricultural techniques.

4. Private and governmental soil analysis laboratories.
5. Private and government diseases and insect’s laboratories.
6. Feed factories and animal production facilities.

8. Humanitarian organizations interested in the agricultural sector.
