The College of Science was established in the city of Idlib in 2007 under the name of the Second College of Sciences – University of Aleppo with its departments: Mathematics – Physics and Chemistry – Biology, then one department was opened which is the Department of Mathematics in 2007, and in 2009 the Department of Physics and Chemistry was opened, and in the year 2015 Idlib University branch was separated from the University of Aleppo under the name of Idlib University and it became (College of Science – Idlib University) and the Department of Physics and Chemistry and the Department of Biology were opened.

Vision and mission

The pursuit of its mission through providing the community with students who carry a scientific and social mission to achieve the desired development by emphasizing that the basic sciences are the basic basis for the development of various other sciences, and that scientific research in these sciences is the only way for the scientific, cultural, social and economic advancement of society.

• Schools need specialists in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and life science in varying proportions.
• Achieving integration policy in various specialties.
• Achieving the students’ desire to pursue their academic achievement in specializations that suit their future aspirations.

• Giving the opportunity to students who have been out of school for years due to bombing and forced displacement, to complete their studies at the College of Science.

• Preparing the educational process to keep pace with scientific development in various fields, especially in scientific research and its applications
